Why is there a Volunteer Fee charged? 

The RFSC Volunteer fee is charged to all families who join our club to encourage them to get involved and help out when they can.  Each family is required to do 5 hour of volunteer work and at the end of the season if the hours are completed you will receive a refund of the $100.  If you are not able or not interested in helping out the club and wish to not volunteer, you can let us know and your $100 volunteer fee will be kept and used toward requirements or club needs.  If you sit as an active board member on our Board of Directors this will be considered as your volunteer hours and if your skater volunteers as a PA (Program Assistant) with our learn to skate program for the season this time will be considered as volunteer time as well.  

High School Volunteer Hours - If you have a high school student requiring their 40 hours of community service, we can certainly sign off on hours completed volunteering for club activities as well. 

A sign up page will be located at entrance desk with various jobs that require volunteers - PLEASE take a look at it and sign up for your hours early to avoid not getting them done. Or approach any of the RFSC Board Members who can let you know what tasks are available .  All hours must be completed by the last day of skating in March each season. 

Examples of Volunteer Jobs:

• Snacks for PA's 
• Decorating for the Annual Show Case 
• Special treat bag days such as Halloween, Christmas, Valentines Day Etc
• Bullentin Board updating
• Taking photos and videos for our social media promotions
• Helping find Donors & Sponsors
• Fundraising 
• Handing out Costumes for the show 
• Making Costumes for the show
• Making Decorations for Lobby & boards for the showcase 
• If you have social media experience and can help with Facebook Twitter etc..... 
• ETC.......

    The Ridgetown Skating Club is a small club and any help is extremely appreciated to keep our learn to skate program running smoothly.
